Improving mental health care in humanitarian crises
What progress has been made in strengthening the evidence base on effective mental health and psychosocial support approaches in humanitarian contexts and translating this into good practice? What are the barriers to implementing MHPSS interventions for people affected by humanitarian crises? Panellists in this discussion discuss these questions drawing on articles in the latest issue of Humanitarian Exchange magazine and their own research and experience. Representing the MOPH Lebanon-National Mental Health Programme, Nour Kik discusses the mental health response to the Syrian crisis in Lebanon, with a focus on mental health and psychosocial support coordination.
