The MoPH Won the 2018 Award for Excellence and Distinction in PHC
The information office of the Ministry of Public Health issued the following statement:
In the context of the19th annual forum of the Arab Hospitals Federation that took place on 29-30 April 2018 at the Oman Convention and was attended by Health ministers or their representatives from the different Arab countries, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health won the 2018 award for excellence and distinction in PHC in the Middle East Region. The award was handed out to the representative of Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani Dr. Randa Hamadeh, the Head of Primary Health care Department. Dr. Hamadeh briefed the experience of Lebanon in launching main health care packages for the citizens through the PHC national network within the Universal health Coverage. This aims at sharing the experience of Lebanon with the rest of the Arab countries.
The conference noted the pioneering role of Lebanon in PHC, especially that the Syrian displacement is draining its resources.
