Under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani, the Ministry of Public Health launched a workshop in collaboration between MoPH and the European Union to provide guidance on pharmaceutical industry and introduce the international standards, which facilitates the entry of the Lebanese medicines into the European markets and thus the international markets.
Vinuesa
Mr. Jose-Luis Vinuesa, Head of the Economy and Local Development Section at the EU Delegation in Lebanon, explained that the workshop that will last four days is especially important in terms of the exchange of information and expertise. It aims at improving the exportation of the Lebanese products to the European markets, with a focus on the pharmaceutical products.
“The European Union is interested in enhancing the Lebanese economy and job opportunities in order to modernize the Lebanese economic system. The workshop will shine light on the regulations and legislations required with regards to pharmaceutical industry and products, while outlining the regulations and standards that ensure the production of high-quality products to enter the European and gulf markets,” Vinuesa said.
Ammar
Dr. Ammar thanked the European Union and the experts for their contribution in the workshop and highlighted the considerable support of Health Minister to the pharmaceutical industry in Lebanon, given the importance of this sector, particularly when the international standards are met.”
Bassil
The counselor to Heath Minister Dr. Marcel Bassil noted that the Ministry of Public Health started last year to discuss with the Ministry of foreign Affairs the ways to expand the markets of the Lebanese pharmaceutical products and medicines. A road map has been developed in collaboration with Taiex mission for the exchange of information and expertise.
