A Canadian Delegation from the "International Accreditation Foundation" in a tour in the Primary Health Care Centers in Lebanon

In the context of the promotion of Primary Health Care and the improvement of the quality of services provided to the citizens, and in a bid to complete the Accreditation Programme the Ministry has started to implement since 2008 in collaboration with The Canadian Accreditation Body, a Canadian delegation from the International Foundation for Accreditation is visiting Lebanon to examine the work of the Primary Health Care centers on the ground after the assessment they have carried out and the intensive training courses prepared by the Ministry and the Canadian Foundation for these centers, especially that priorities in which Deputy Prime Minister Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani is involved were geared towards Primary Health Care to provide the citizen with better services.

The visits of the Canadian Delegation during May will include all the Lebanese regions, from Halba in North-Lebanon to Machghara in Beqaa and Bent Jbeil in South-Lebanon, in addition to many other regions in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. Lebanese "surveyors" that have been trained by the Canadian International Foundation for Accreditation in company with individuals from the Canadian Delagation will assess Health Centers.

Hence, the number of centers that will be visited in the context of the follow-up of the Accreditation Programme will amount to 92 Health Centers, enabling these centers to improve their performance and provide high-quality services to approximately one third of the Lebanese citizens in 2016.
