لكل طفل يولد في لبنان حق الحصول على سجل صحي مجّاني يوزّع من قبل وزارة الصحة على المستشفيات وعيادات التوليد بموجب القانون رقم 550 تاريخ 24/7/1996 حيث نصّت المادة الأولى من هذا القانون على أنه " لكل طفل لبناني جديد سجل صحي خاص عند ولادته ."
يعتبر السجل الصحي مرجعاً دائماً يلخص صحة الطفل حتى بلوغ سن الرشد. يجب الإحتفاظ بهذا السجل كمرجع صحي للطفل لاحتوائه على كل المعلومات الصحية التي قد يحتاج إلى مراجعتها في أية مرحلة من مراحل حياته . يعتبر هذا السجل أيضاً صلة تواصل مهمّة بين الأطباء المتابعين للطفل خلال مرحلتي الطفولة والمراهقة مع احترام السرية الطبية، لذا يجب إبرازه عند كل زيارة طبّية لتوثيق كل مرض أو طارىء صحي قد يتعرّض له الطفل خلال حياته وكل لقاح قد يتلقاه منذ ولادته .
 
إرشادات للعناية بصحة الطفل

يحق لكل طفل يولد في لبنان أن يحصل على سجل صحي مجّاني  يوزّع من قبل وزارة الصحة على المستشفيات وعيادات التوليد وذلك بموجب قانون رقم 550 الصادر بتاريخ 1996/7/24 حيث نصّت المادة الأولى من هذا القانون على أنّه " يعتمد لكل طفل لبناني جديد سجل صحي خاص عند ولادته" . يرفق كتيّب الإرشادات للعناية بصحة الطفل بالسجل الصحي ، ويعطى نسخة منه للأهل أولمن يرعى الطفل ويهتم بنموه. يحتوي هذا الكتيّب على معلومات هامة جداً حول الإهتمام بالطفل والإعتناء بصحته منذ الولادة حتى المراهقة. كما أن في هذا الكتيّب معلومات وتوضيحات تساعد القارىء على فهم أعمق لمضمون السجل الصحي.

آلية استلام السجل الصحي وكتيّب إرشادات للعناية بصحة الطفل
 
  1. على المستشفى تعبئة الإستمارة الخاصة بالمواليد الجدد إلكترونياً
  2. تنزيله على مرصد الولادات والوفيات للأمهات والأطفال على الرابط 77.42.220.173/marsad
  3. استلام إيصال بالكمية المطلوبة من دائرة صحة الأم والولد
  4. استلام السجل الصحي وكتيّب الإرشادات من مستودع وزارة الصحة في الكرنتينا
