Cold Chain Training Initiative
By the end of year 2008, Lebanon was granted an International Cold Chain Cetertification award from WHO and UNICEF, becoming among the 5 countries worldwide to hold this certification. In November 2014, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in collaboration with UNICEF under Instrument for Stability (IfS) project, launched the first phase of training to ensure safe storage and handling of vaccines at the districts level, after which the second phase of training was held during 2015. This training targeted 15 Logistic Officers from different Qadas to be trained on the installation and maintenance of solar system refrigerators in Primary Health Care (PHC) centers.
